Congress bas been ordered to protect the trusts, and bas observed. We find protection stripped of sts old pre- tentions and excuses. It is reduced toa bare mercenary aspect. It means the ending of wealthy corporations to levy tribute upon the masses, and to use the powers of the Government to en lance piles ihat are already enormous. We beleve that, with a just cause bebind them, the United States might safely defy ali the mechinations of hostile Europe, but in an aggressive policy, dictated by selfiah pecu niarv interests, it must be plain that the ' United States runs a serious risk of collision; and how fatal that might be to all the highest interests of mankind are abundantly clear. We trust that all wise and right minded Americans will sound a warning against this bill.
