Educatonal heads have stopped trying vainly to make silk purses out of sows' ears, but they have discovered that those same sows' ears make very serviceable pig- skin purses. and they are now bending their energies to that end. They do not stop there. There are so many boys and girls who cannot see the value of an edu- cation until it is too late. or. per- haps we should say, until it was too late. It is no longer too late. Because ambitious boys and girls, men and women. who discover that the "Primrose path of dallinace" which they followed in their youth did not bring them to the land of heart's desire can remedy the mat- ter by taking advantage of the adult education program which our present system provides. it is probable they can never quite make up for the wasted years. but they can at least oartlv remedy the situation.
