Flax is grown very largely in Canada but no use
is being made of the fibre. the seeds only being used
in making oil and stock foods. The libre itow thrown
away as useless is very valuable and in these days of
conservation the waste is incxcusablc. We note that
the Dominion Department of Agriculture is experi-

taken from the work of production

tion and still more production would seem

Government should be backed to the limit
meriting with a view to the manufacture of linen and
