The proceedings throughout were of ‘a most enjoyable character, and Mr. Hughes expressed hie appreciation of the honor done nim. Ay ILL-Farep JsLanper.—A letter was received in Charlottetown a few days ago from Monterrey, Mexico, daied September 2od, saying that Alexander M. Mclnnis, an Islander, who has lived in Monterrey for four yeare, had been sand-~bagged and robbed in Boston, while returning to Mon~ terrey from a visit to his home, which is on the Col ille road, about twelve miles from Charlottetown. He had strength enovghto reach his ship in Boston, but collapsed shortly after. The ship called at Galveston, and here he was placed in one of the city hospitals euffering from a fractured skull. The letter received bere states that be was in a bad couditon. The recent storm may have claimed him as a victim, but it is to be hoped that the Islander is safe. Inquiries are now being made for more information.
