Isner and daughter Dorothy of Halifax, were visitors in Hunter River over the holiday and were the welcome guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Smith. Mrs. Lorenzo Smith and Lester left on Saturday morning for Saint John, were they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. James Gibbons and fam- ily and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Smith before returning home. Sincere wmpathy goes out from this community to Mr. and Mrs. Alex McDovreil and family in the tragic death of their little son David. A large number from Bun- ter River attended the funeral on Sunday in Pleasant Valley United Church, which was one of the largest ever seen in that district. Mrs. Steve Burns, accompanied by her mother Mrs. John McKay of Stanley Bridge. have returned from Toronto, where they visited Wendell, who is a patient in the Christie Street Hospital. Wendell had undergone a major operation early in the winter from which he made a. complete recovery. When planning to return home, Wendell had the misfortune to fall, break- ing his shoulder. This accident was regretted by his many friends. It is pleasing to report he is resi- ing fairly comfortably, despite the cast. and ,his friends wish him a speedy recovery. A service of special interest was held in the United Church on Sun- day evening, May 15th. The W. M. S. present. Mrs. C. B. Mntheson presided, with Mrs. LePage and Mrs. J. S. McLeod assisting. The guest speaker was Dr. A. D. Mc- Kenzie and his message was most instructive and the large congre- gation were pleased to have Dr McKenzie address them again. Special music for the service was by Summerside Male Quartette, Messrs. Wedlock, Sharpe, McLean and Huestis. and accompanying this fine quartette was Mrs. Sheen. A special feature at this service was the affiliation service oi’ the C.G.I.T. with the Auxiliary of the W.M.S.
