In reference to the treaty between Great Britain and Spiin, by which Spain under- took to admit Canadian products into Cuba and Porto Rico upon the same favorable terms as were accorded to any other nation, it is learned that neither of the high contracting powers have given notice to terminate the treaty. The Life of the treaty was fixed at five years from 1886, and then only to be ter- minated upon one year’s notice. As neither nation has given notice, it caunot end for nearly two years, and Halifax ex- porters are happy in the hope that for that period their produce will be admitted into the Spanish West Indies upon the same terms as American under the recent treaty, viz : free.
