In the House yesterday the Speaker's warrant was issued for the arrest of Senecal. In committee resolutions were passed unanimously for the cancellation of certain mortgage bonds of the North Shore Rail- way Company held by the Government. Discussion on the Trent Valley canal occupied several hours. Perry protested against spending apry- thing on the canal till the tunnel has been built. Mackenzie Bowell waz in his seat yes- terday all right again. Sir John Thompson, David Mills, Sayard, Davies and Michael Adams have been selected a sub-committee to prepare & report on the Tarte-McGreevy affair. Prorogation is looked for about the 17th. But it is highly probable that before that date revelations wi]! be made that will put all the past scandals into the shade. Pro- minent Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Grits are involved, and readers of THE EXAMINER may look for excitement before many days. Public Accounts Enquiry Senecal's Commissions Again. Hot Words in Committee Orrawa, Sept. 2, Before the Public Accounts Committee yesterday several parties testified to havii g pud Senecal commissions on sales for the Priuting Bureau. Johnston, ef Toronto, type founder, tes- tified that after giving evidence before, he went with Senecal to Chapleau’s house. Chapleau seemed very much surprised at the evidence that had been given, and evidently was in entire ignor- ance of any payments to Senecal tillthe vy - dence come out. Chapleau told Johnston he must tell the Committee all the trans- actions which took p'ace, no matter who suffered. Other important evidence was given as to the dealings of the Canada Paper Co. with the Government, the Grits attempting to prove corrupt bargain without success. Chapleau accused Lister of misleading the Committee, and again dared him to im- peach him before the house. - THE CANADIAN BISLEY. Very food Shooting. What the Islanders are Doing, Orrawa, Sept. 2.
