He bred and owned some fine carriage horses and was an extensive breeder of pure-bred sheep and always an exhibitor and prize winner in that class at the Kings County exhibition. The large number of people who attended his funeral was evidence of their sympathy for the bereaved family, and of regret for the pass- lng of a fcliow citizen.
