Arrival of H. M. S. Canada. H. M. S. Canapa arrived from Halifax this morning, and is lying off Queen’s Wharf. She will remain in port until Monday. Between every tenth gun there will be a grand few de jove, and at the conclusion three cheers for the Queen. At two o’clock in the afternoon the sailors and marines will take part in the military review and sham fight at the Park. After the review the seamen will be put through the manual and firing exercises; the marines through the bayonet exercises ; and the cutlass men through the cutlass drill. Atten o’clock in the evening the ship will be illuminated. They will also take part in the proceedings on Friday, and the Captain and officers will attend the jubilee entertainment in the Market Hall in the evening. .-- <--> -- eo ——— —— Masor R. A. Croriey, District Paymaster and Superintendent of Stores of the Province of Prince Edward Island, went out with a Detachment of the 97th (or ‘‘Earl of Ulsters”) Regiment, and the Mayor of the city in which the Regiment was then stationed, on the 27th of June, 1838, to proclaim the Queen’s Coro- nation. Major Cropley was at the time a non-commissioned officer. He is going into camp in Charlottetown, on the 27th of this month—still serving the Queen, after an un- broken and honorable connection with the army extending over fti‘ty years. There are few men in Canada with such a remarkable record as this. Before Confederation the gal. lant old Major occupied the position of Inspec- tor of the Volunteer Brigade of Prinze Ed- ward Island, and since then he has been on the District Staff.
