The room was found unsuitable, however. aim in the fall of 1871 the Lodge was moved to the Metropolitan Hall. in the Fnrquharson building on Queen Street. . The progress mndn 21'. first was not very encouraging. for the membership, on Dec. 31, 1870. only numbered seventeen. A new inter- est was aroused after that time. however, and the movement grew steadily. W. stumbles, 5. Keith, Theo. L. Chappell. E. D. Stair. EH. Beer and James A. MoMurthy. The Lodge was instit- uted by John C. G. Ellis. district deputy Grand Master and was named Prince Edward Lodge. No 22 In February. 1876. a number oi members of St, Lawrence Lodgi- obtained permission to establish another Lodge .in Charlottetown under the name of Wildey Lodge, No. 27. which was organized with the following charter members: Messrs. E.H. Brennan. E.M Es- tey. Benjamin Bremner. F, H Beer, E. D. stair. Arch. D, White. and James Mcxechnie. All these members also have passed away Grand Patriarch LIEUT. COL. Grand Encampment The Encampment branch of Od(”'3”0WSh1lI in Charlottetown was organized on Oct, 24, 1876, rnder the name of Port In Jok- Encampmeat, No. 13, but in 189: it received a new charter after the Grand Encampment was in- stituted, and became No. 4 under the following officers: Messrs. George Waller, Henry S. Coffin. William D. Small, DR. MacLen- nan, W.R. Boreham, A.D. Mac- Leod and Fred H. Bcllar. The Lodge was named after the Alpha Rebekah Lodge. No. 10. was instituted on Oct. 27, by Bro. A.J. Houle, P.G., a. mem- ber oi Pearl Rebekah Lodge, No. 9. Moncton. Mr. Houle was ap- pointed a Special Deputy to in- stitute this Lodge by Bro. T. B. Grady. who was Grand Master at the time. The charter members were T.B. Grady and Mrs. Grady. John F. Whear and Mrs. Whear, Albert W. Mitchell and Mrs. Mit- chell, J. S. Nelson and Mrs Nel- son, John Wares and Mrs. Wares. other Lodge: The fourth oldest I. O. O. F. Lodge on the Island was instituted 1896.
