commissioners to-day cut. down the
licenses by ten, all hotels, in pursuance
of an order of the city council. Each of
the Leu was granted an extension of three
months. As there remain sixty-seven
hotels and thirty-one stores, thirsty souls
were totally consumed. In less than an
hour after the walls had fallen in, Mr.
Doble, general manager of the Company,
had telsgrapberl for the necessary mater-
ials t~o permit manufacturing operations,
to be started with as little delay as
