' Before going to bed to catch up on much, needed sleep, the haggard pilot said he awaited only favor- able weather before taking off for Capetown. ' The present record is held by Mrs. Mollison who traversed the route in 78 hours, 26 minutes flying time earlier in the year. The rivalry between Mollison and his wife over the Capetown-London record dates back several years. It has been held by each in turn. (Recently Mrs. Mollison sold she and her husband had decided to separate and that she would fly under her maiden name. (Mrs. Mollison wrested the Lon- don-Capctown record from her hus- bond Dec. 1a. 1932, flying the dis- tance in four days six hours and 55 minutes. (In May, 1934, Jean Bntien bet- tercd the mark, but in May of i936, Mrs. Mollison, established records for solo flights each way and slso set a. mark for the round trip which she flew in seven days, 22 hours and 43 minutes).
