Stan- way, a highly respected gentleman and brother ot H. Stanway residing ln Charlottetown. George Stanway, commission broker and past presl- dsnt of the Bt. George’s Society, died last night, at his home, 146 Isabella Street. Mr. Stsnway was horn in 1845, and _since 1867 carried _on business at 46 Front St. East, He had extensive business connec- tions, and was as well known in 'Montreal as Toronto. His connec- tions with Bt. Georgo's Society made him a prominent figure among those enaged-in charitable work in the city. He was always to be seen at the Christmas Eve distribution by the St. Gcorge's Society.
