20 Ideas The Cadre + _26jJanuary 1999 Letters to the Editor Dear Sirs Now it’s on. The article “Coca-Cola Lends Encouragement” in the January 19th issue was the most inane thing I’ve read outside of PEOPLE WEEKLY. The large type-face and the empty space at the bottom probably means you had nothing better to write about. I feel so violated. Maybe the Coke machines will cheer me up. In related news, if you can tear your eyes away from the “brand-spanking” new machines and look toward the other side of the pit, you will see that Pepsi is still being sold on-campus. Furthermore, | have little remorse for those sods at the University of Manitoba. After doing a little math, I found out that we are paying 0.296 cents per millilitre before deposit for a bottle ofnon-existent Pepsi. At the U of M, they are paying 0.250 cents per millilitre. Would PEI youth be so lucky? Re: your article and Recommendation 16.8 of the UPEI 1998 Audit: I heartily endorse any efforts to reduce textbook costs to students.
