The writ was issued yesterday morning and ere the close of the day the alleged false lover was made aware of the fair one’s inteations. The plaintiff, who teeks damages for breach of promise of marriage, is Miss Ellen Me- Carthy, a maiden of nineteen summers. The defendant is Charles Henry Webber. Miss McCarthy claims that Webber paid her attention for many months, and that hs promised to#marry her. The wedding dsy was fixed and all preliminari-s arranged, but when the day arrived the fair one was dissppointed, as Charles had changed his miod. Miss M Carthy places damages at $50@.
