The mother of this cow bears the reputation of being the best butter test cow in Prince County. Fenwick Hamilton and Mrs. W. H. Middle- ton, who eloped from Ottawa about 18 months ago, were married in Boston the other day. Mr. Middleton obtained a divorce from his wife at the last session of the Dominion Parliament. The papers have announced the death — of Bishop Langevin. It was, however, the Bishop's brother, the Grand Vicar of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rimouski, who died, deeply regretted by all who knew him. The health of the Bishop of Rimouski is very good, Their Lordships Bishop Sweeney, of St. John, N. B., and Bishop Rogers, of Chat- ham, arrived here by last evening’s express and His Lordship Bishop Cameron by the beat from Pictou. They are now staying at the Palace. His Lordship Archbishop O'Brien, of Halifa ‘, is expected to-night. Mr. Ernest Gough, brother of Mr. Douglas Gough, of the mechanical department of the Moncton T'ranscript, returned to his home in P. A circular has been issued to Collectors of Customs, informing them that section 32 of chapter 74 of the Revised Statutes ap- plies to foreign as well as to Canadian ves sels, and that the Collector is therefore not to grant clearance to any foreign vessel without the production of the shipping master’s certificate that the requirements of the Act have been complied with.
