An Act to amend The Criminal Code, 1892, as respects Lotteries. | IS Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of ie mice, Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows :— i. Subsection 6 of section 205 of The Criminal Code, 1892, 1892. ¢. 29, 5 as the said subsection is enacted by section 2 of chapter 42 of = 7 ?aP yo. the statutes of 1901, is hereby amended by adding thereto the s. 2 amended. following as paragraph (c.) thereof :— “(e) Any distribution by lot, among the members or ticket Certain Art holders of any Art Union established and maintained solely pobeomce fe 10 for the encouragement of art, of any work of art produced by operation of the labour of the members of, or published by or under the ("| direction of, or presented to, such Art Union, if— lotteries. (i.) such Art Union is incorporated under the laws of the United Kingdom, and has obtained permission from 15 the Governor-in-Council to sell in Canada tickets or chances for such distribution ; and (ii.) such tickets or chances are solely for the distribution of works of art, and the Art Union does not in any manner give money prizes and does not exchange any 20 work of art so distributed for any valuable considera- tion other than another work of art of like nature.”
