At the Royal Winter Fair and other such gatherings Square Dancing has proved immensely popular and young and old should derive great 'pleasure from the performances to be staged Old Home Week. LIVE STOCK Live Stock enthusiasts will really have something to "oh and ah" about in this year's exhibits. Without doubt they are representative of the finest specimens in the Province. Many new breeders are showing and judges will have a difficult time in deciding the "best of the show." The judging always attracts keen interest and its a sure bet this year that the stand for spectators at the Judging Ring will be crowded to see the cream of Island Live Stock on parade. Once again we take pride in the fact that: our encouragement coupled with that of the Dominion and Provincial Governments, has brought our standard of quality so high that we are known through- out the length and breadth of the American continent as among the bestl producers of special types of Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Swine and Pou try. We want everyone to take an interest and lend encouragement to this very important side of our Old Home Week program. VAUDEVILLE PROGRAM A variety of entertainment will feature the Vadiieville again this year. Seven acts are on the program and they run the gamut of thrilling aerial acrobatics to the astonishing performances of train- ed seals. Hcre are reviews of some of the acts:e- THE SILVER CONDORS Oneof the most awe-inspiring thrill acts will he 'the Silver Condors, a young, fearless team of aerial acrobats. 'The Silver Condors use a completely non-con- ventional rigging that reaches high into the air. Their performance aloft is completely non-conventional, too, for,. disdainful of danger, and without benefit of safety devices of any kind, The Silver Condors disport themselves on high in a most dazzling display of skill and utter nerveiessness. In rapid succession, they per- form incredible feats on trapezes, rings and tight wire, and court disaster on the slender and treacherously limber sway poleviocated at the topmost part of their rigging. In a demonstration of their masterful flair for showmanship, The Silver Condors intermingle with their gasp-provoking stunts the ultimate in mirth-provoking comedy. its a refreshiiig blend of gnltertainmcni. that is altogether thrilling and delight- u. I ROSALES SISTERS The Rosales Sisters, Aida and Tela, do an acro- batic shoulder perch act. This consists of one of the girls, known as the understandcr, supporting and bal- ancing a flexible 30-foot pole on her shoulder. The other girl is perched at the very top of the pole where she performs an intricate set of acrobatic and con- tortionistic maneuvers. Few women have managed to fill the difficult role of understander which requires superlative muscle and strength plus a perfect sense of balance. No other woman has succeeded in supporting a partner per- forming at the top of a 30-foot perch. Contrary to the logical assumption, the Rosales Sisters are youthful, comely and shapely. If anything, they say, their grueling physical routine has a ten- dency to keep them in the best physical shape. To see them work in perfect synchronization is to be- lieve them. ROLAND TIEBOR'S SEALS Capt. Roland 'I'iebor's seals will hold the spot- light during one of the featured performances. Capt. Tiebor, who is an up-state New Yorker, learned his unusual trade from his father, who was one of the first men to train a seal. When perform- ing their routine to the Captain's spoken commands, it really seems as though they realize how fortunate they are to be under the kindly care of Capt. Tiebor instead of adorning the frame of some Broadway chorus girl, like many of their less fortunate brothers and sisters. No one seal can be given more attention than the other or have more tricks to perform dur- ing the routine. If the Captain shows more affection for any one of the seals, then the other immediately becomes jealous and the act goes to pieces. MORRISON SISTERS The Morrison Sisters, "Sweethearts of Bar- mony", are remembered as child entertainers, who made their professional debut in 1941 in Hartford, Connecticut, where, at the ages of 7, 10, and 11, they were the youngest harmony singin trio in radio, broadcasting regularly over the Na onal Broadcast- ing Company station in that city. From that begin- ning they branched out with personal appearances all over New England and graduated to the nationwide ranks under direction of the Al Martin A ncy of Boston, which is responsible for their boo at county and State fairs, amusement parks and other outdoor spots. I . . POULTRY The Exhibition will be a mecca for poultry enthusiasts. The best of the live ones will he on display in the special Poultry Building. Now a big business, interest in poultry extends from one end of the Province to the other.
