MEN @3459 VEGETABLE LIFE MEDICINES. HESE Medicines are indebted for their name to their manifest and sensible action in puri fying the springs and channels oflife, and endumg them with renewed tone and vigor. In many hundred cer. tified cases which have been made public, and in almost everv species of disease to which the human frameis liable, the happy effects of Moffat’s Life Pills and Plienix Bitters have been gratefully and publicly acknowledged by all persons bepefited, and who were. prevm'usly unacquainted with the beautifully philosophical pnn'm. pies upon which they are compounded, and upon Winch they consequently act. I . The Life Medicines recommend themselves in diseases of every form and description. The first operation is to loosen from the coats of the stomach and bowels the various impurities and crudities constantly settling around them; and to remove tlie~hardeiied fmces which collect in the convolutions of the small intestines. Other medicines only partially cleanse these, arid leave such collected masses behind as to produce habitual costive- nose, with all its train of evils, or sudden diarrhma, wph its imminent dangers. This fact is well known to all regular nnatomists, who examine. the human bowels after death: and hence the prejiidice of thesewellin- formed men against quack medicmes—or medicmes pre. pared and heralded to the public .by ignoraiitpersons. The second effect of the Life Medicines is to cleanse the kidne s and the bladder,- and by_ this means, the liver and t e lungs, the healthful action of which entirely depends upon the regularity Of the urinary organs. The blood, which takes its red colour from the agency of the liver and the lungs, before it passes into the heart, being thus purified by them, and nourished by food coming from a clean stomach, courses freely through the veinls, renews every part of the s stem, and. triumphant y mounts the banner of health in tlie'blooming cheek.
