M; The Cadre, Tues. Feb.18,1975, page 4 Mail’s Our Bag Cont. it but never-the-less we really do hate to see you dissapp— ointed. r Ted, I'd also like to know who you did back stab when ,you were elected — I didn't think you were that kind of guy.uIn the same breath may I add that I'm glad you have g£¥en your permission for Student Union elections to be popularity contests; In regards to the comment you made on lack of inter— est or participation, I really wish you would stip— ulate which of the two I lack. But all seriousness aside, I really am very egotistical and every piece of my garb— age is composed with the vintentic‘m' of good effeCt as opposed to an ill—one the effect ref- lecting on me of course. Without going into the childish aspect of your letter I am in full realiz— ation that the position of comptroller is a busy one and that you obviously have better things to do. What was this rumour about the Panther Lounge being opened in the day; what ever happ— ened to the report on the conditions and proposed changes for the Barn; and exactly how are you progre— ssing op your brainstorm for turning the patio of Blanchard Hall into a drink— ing lounge? This, is not constructive I will admit but if we can't find anyth- ing constructive to say and we become silent as you su- ggest we might,as a conseq- uence, become labled "apat- hetic". The Student Union wouldn't want that would it? However,Ted, if you're gettingfifediup I do hope sincerely that you are at least paying for the food. Along with this we wouldn't want anyone to get into ev— ents such as those at Winter Carnival without paying admission fee would we? As far as common sense is con— cerned some of us have it and some of us don't so ig Mac, or those with big appetites_. wo beef patties,» lettuce . cheese' a special sauce- and a triple sesame seed' / consider yourself blessed Ted. The article on the impea— chment was merely a news story which was presented with the intension of stat— ,ing the facts only not the pros and cons on the subje— ct. " Since you are so upset with the morality of the Student Union constitution perhaps you could have been more actively concerned, in this present term of off— ice, about rectifying this lack of morality and this action would then be class- ified as revolutionary as opposed to reactionary.Th- ink about ithed. Better yet perhaps a candidate in the S.U. elections could use it in a campaign platform. If I may say so, maybe bun , you are in the wrbng ballp— ark, Ted, for the name of the game is not patting Joe r Student on the back for the sole purpose of his thinking you a great guy. The rules of this game include getting up off your behind and doing ‘Somethingvconstructive. Your friend and mine, Louise’Mould‘ Managing Ed of Cadre Senate Rep UPEISU P.S. The statement "People come first" would make an _excellent election campaign slogan. You could, perhaps, sell it to one of our four political parties contesting the seat in fifth Queens, Or do you have your ownwplae‘ us for these three choice words? Dear Bev (whoever you are) I read your letter in last week's Cadre. It was j very interesting. There are just a few things I'd like to get straight with you. First, I was Program Direc— tor fqr the Radio Station last year but resigned when I became Vice-President. A meeting of Radio stations in the Maritime provinces came up just shortly after = :_ Marilyn’C‘.‘ MacPherson 7 and one 5f4rhe’tofiigé‘ofé discussion was togcefiter ‘ on programminglvUntil'last ‘ year, programming wasjnot taken t60 seriously but with our appliCationrto. the '0ch in the, works, it became imperativeLjyrogram logs must begavailable to_ " a ,the [CRTC Commits si‘on: amp I, request. éfifi”W~m’gw“ ”‘ Anyway, I waS“askedfand ,not the. 91:21.9; way'arourid, to go to the meeting and“ \pass any information thatf was forthCOming‘from‘it'f to the new Program Director. I can't agree more on' ‘the point that the Communi— cations Officer had more: “right to go than I did but that idea was never expre—' 'ssed by either the Cbmmuni— cations Officer or the‘ Radio station Staff, that I can remember. But you are right in one‘ thing though I blew it for myself. If I had done abso— lutely nothing all year eXcept go to every COuncil meeting for an hour or so, I would probably be far better off. If you are so terribly interested in sla- ~ckness on campus, why don't YOU help do something about' it? To the students, In the upcoming election there is a candidate runn- ing for treasurer who I. feel deserves your vote. His name is Raymond Sha— lala. V Ray has the qualifications for the job in high school _ Ray was president of the student Council. In his” wOrking experience he has: held the positions of scre— _tary-treasurer at North— , Shore Auto Sales, and : credit manager of Steeve's Motors, one of the largest car dealerships in New Brunswick. Throughout this time Ray was heavily invol— ved in the yoUth programs of Campbellton N.B., his ‘hOme town. 1; Above all academic qualF fifications, the most impo—r rtant thing is that Ray is out to help the student. I know Ray as a person, he is dedicated and respon— sible, and I am sure he will use any means within the constitution that will attain an end that will be most beneficial for the student body. This is not bullshit. Michael Hartshorn.
