AP.B.I.student at M :Gill College writes Tal Guannxsrz as follows: The much reported friction between the students , of McGill College and the-authorities has resolved itself into very simple shape. The principal has emphatically denied ,that he wrote the municipal authorities ,askingthem to make an example of the two students arrested for disturbing the peace on Hollow e'en. It now transpixhs that the reason the students were not granted bail was because they pleaded guilty to the charge preferred against them. It is the general impression among the citizens of Montreal that the' students of McGill conform to the laws of the city in an exceptional manner that is excep- tional for students. HOME wedding at North River.-A very attractive home wedding came od’ at the residence of Jacob Cummings, North River, Wednesday evening, Nov. 6. The contracting parties being Henry R..Hurry, son of Mr. Henry Hurry of Charlottetown Royalty, and Mary F. Cummings, Mr Cummings oldest daughter. The bride ,looked very pretty in a_ becoming gown and bridal veil. Miss Bessie Cummings sister of the bride _was bridesmaid, and Mr. Augustus Hurry, brother or the bride- groom acted as best man. The nuptial knot was securely fastened by Rev. A. F. Browne and Mrs. Brown played the wedding march. e The wedding presents were numerous and valuable and testified to the high esteem in which the bride is held by all who enjoy her acquaintance. A large number of guests were present. ' . 'beautiful and very choice weddin' :upper was su important feature r Jae pleasant occa- sion. The final football game of the League _series was played on the C. A. A. A. Park on Saturday afternoon. The formation of the League in the early part of the season marked a decided advance in football interest and has tended to produce better results than heretofore. It was adopted that teams from ,the Abegweits, St. Dunstan’s and Prince of Wales' Colleges might enter 'the Union. but the latter felt it impossible to place a team this year, and as a result the games _have been fought out between. the Abbies and the Saints. Three games have been contested, the drst of which ended in a draw, and the remaining games have been won by the St. Duustan’s team thus making them the Provincial champions for 1901. Satnrday's game will go down in football history as one of the finest e: _hibitious of the sport ever seen in the City. The, improvement in the play of both teams since their last meeting has been great, and the sharpest work characterized the game. The Abegweits showed improved form, and played a confident and determined game. The passing of the halves, good in both teams, was particularly note worthy on _fthe Abbies’hai_f line, vxreicii-»in the second half did some very tty -work in this respect. The tackling was very keen, and few long runs were made. _ yet the game was much more open than in previous matches. The Abegweits kicked od’ at 3 35 and for the first ten minutes placed the Collegians on the defence forcing them to rouge. The game now increased in interest and very excellent work was done by forwards of the opposing 'teams. The College gradually worked the ball to the Abbies’ 10 yard line;` here McPherson secured it and bya piece of good pity ilanded the sphere behind the Abegweits' line. Saints 3-Abbies O. No further score was made in this half and time found the ball at centre. ' » ANY CHILD WILL TAKE McLean's Vegetable Worm Syrup.
