So great, indeed, has their efficacy invariably and infallibly proved that it has appeared secarcely | less than miraculous to those who were acquainted | which they are compounded, and upon which they consequently act. It was to their manifest and sen- | life, and induing them with renewed toneand vigor, that they were indebted for their name. | Unlike the host of pernicious quackeries which | boast of vegetable ingredients, the LIFE MEDI- | CINES are purely and solely vegetable; and contain | neither Mercury, nor Antimony, nor Arsenic nor any | plants, the virtues of which, though long known to | the ignorant pretenders to medical sciefce; and were | never before administered in so happily efiicacious | a combination. HEALTH AND DISCIPLINE, Health and disciplino are the most important ele. ments in an army to insure success, Discipline without health will prove as ineffectual as shot with- out powder. Health is the propelling force of the army, and is the symbol of victory. It is, therefore, of the greatest importance, that the system of medio cation best adapted for the protection of soldiers agcinst sickness, as well as that known to be thé most speedy and effectual in restoring the sick to health, without regard to professional prejudice, be adopted. This is uo time for medical martinets to quibbie about professional dignity. All the dignity the fession can bring to bear will neither prevent sick- ness among the troops nor cure those afflicted. Our armies to be successful must be keptin a healthy condition; and the most sure means of securing this desideratum is through the remedial powers of RADWAY’S READY RELIEF, which has already proved itself in over fifty ments now at the seat of war near Washington, to c a positive preventive against sickness in the form of CHILLS and FEVER, BILIOUS FEVER, DIAR- KRH@A, SMALL POX, FEVER AND AGUE, TYPHOID FEVER, DYSENTERY, MEASLES, and othor malarious and infectious diseases. Bear in mird, we say, that RADWAY’S READY RELIEF will protect the troops exposed to these disease sguinst attacks. Now, it is conceded by all | the medical men in our army, that they bave noreli- able means to prevent attacks of these diseases, neither have they any positive assurance of curing the sick; bat, on the contrary, the majority of the sick, seized with fever and ague, typhoid, bilious an@ other fevers, either die or linger along until they are reduced to mere wrecks and walking skeletons, Experievce has established the fact that the treat- ment of calomel, quinine and mercury, in cases of fever and ague, typhoid fever, and other fevers of this class, is more iujurious in camps than in private practice, when we take into consideration that can. vas w«lls and exposure to heavy dews and the malaria from pools of water and damp grounds, prove but a poor shelter for the sick, we may readily conjecture that the peuaities of mercurial and quinine treat. ment will, in the majority of cases, be exhibited in the form of rheumatism, neuralgia, pains and stiffness in the joints, enlargement of the liver, jaundice, yellow jaundice, dyspepsia, pleurisy, coughs, colds, &c, which will cling to the unfortunate patient for years, In Dr. Ranway’s Remepies the soldier has a positive preventative against attacks of these dis- eases. Let every soldier carry a bottle of RADWAY’S READY RELIEP | in his knapsack, and when exposed to wet, damp and | chilly weather, or encamped in malarious districts, | take a teaspvonful, in half » cop of water, as a drink, early in the morning before eating, and three ‘or four times duriag the day; and if on picket or | guard duty occasionally during the night, he will , escape ail sickness, and continue to enjoy good health, WHEN SICK, let Radway’s Ready Relief and Radway’s Regulatiag Pills be used aceording to directions, and the patient will soon recover.
