Thousands of hangers, folders and prog-,
rains advertising the reduced rates
and giving details of the celebration have
been mailed abroad to be distributed
where they will be of most service..

ers' Week stamps have been order-
ed. These will bc available for
sticking on envelopes and other covers.

A private party is also getting up a spec-
ial butt/on to be worn by enthusiastic
Home-Comer-a.Altogether it looks as if the
affair is not going to suffer forlack of pub-
llclty.
The P. E. I. Dsveloprnent and Tourist
Association is in close touch with a num-
ber of cncrgctic Islanders* in Boston and
surrounding towns. These people are
“i\ustling" thc Home-Corners' prqieot, and
thcli‘pii`orts in this regard will be sure to
bring runny people to the Provincc. A
great many enquiries come from Western
Canada. From Edmonton and west to the
Pacific Coast letters are coming enquiring
as to rates of transportation.
As regards the program for the week,
each day's events have been planned and
placed in the hands of competent men.

best things will bc the display on :thc
Tuesday, evening, which will embrace a
torchlight proce-ision of the firemen and
thc sociotics to Victoria Park. The road-

bonflres will be blazing at diifcrcnt points
around the harbor. Added to this the
vwuphips will bc invited to illuminate
and to take pxlrt in a grand procession of
decorated boats which will passtoand
fro in front of the crowds assembled on
thc roadway. Amngnliicent display of
fireworks will be niadc from a barge nn-
chorcd out in the harbor and it is probable
that this watcr-fctc, asplanncd, if thc
weather is favourable, will be thc most
beautiful exhibition ever seen in Char-
lottetown. On Tuesday, also, the golden
jubilee of St. Dunstan's College is to bc
celebrated, ami games of various kinds
will through thc day take place in Vic-

Thursday will be the blgldq of the
weak. On that morning the Regatta will
take place,ilorwhich llilllll wiil‘be dis-
tributed in primes and _the Hillsborough
Club Cup will go to the winner in the
yacht class. A nas program has been
arranged, and two races provided for the
sailors from the warehipa. The City of
London has been hired by the _Association
and witha band on board will ail'ord a
delightful triptoall who wish to closely
follow ther-aces. On Thursday aftemcon
thc military and naval men will provide a
grand display at Victoria Park and the
probability is that we shall have the finest
military turnout that has ever been sean
here. On this afternoon the school child
ren will also march in procession. Each
child will be provided with a unique
souvenir, which will make the parade one
of the most picturesque displays that can
be imagined. Thursday will ond with
clsctric light sports and iiremeifs display
at the C. A. A. A. grounds, for which ri
mostlnteresting program has been pre-
pared.
On Friday there will be a grand market
in the morning and horse races in the
afternoon. Saturday will bo excursion
day; on Sunday there will be special
services in the churches; and Monday will
be Sourls day for which the people of that
delightful place have made elaborate
preparations which will roault in an cn-
joyabla day for all who go there on that
-riliy.
The Home Comers‘ Week business is
not absorbing all thc attention of the
P. E. I. Development and Tourist Associa-
tion. The Advertising Committee is not
overlooking the regular tourist business.
Advertising has been placed in
n number of foreign newspapers
and has resulted in many en-
quries being received. An edition of
5000 copies ofa new dlscrlptivs booklet fof
Prince Edward Island, explaining its
qualifications as a desirable tourist resort
is now in the press and will be issued
this wcck and copies mailed to all prospec-
tivevlsitcrs. People in the country \vhu
can furnish clean comfortable rooms and
good board will bc able to procure
boa/rders by communicating with tho
Secretary of the Association. _
Programs containing all dotalls as to
transportation, and the Home Comers'
Week celebration, will be mailed to any

gardens, near Tsarskoe-Selo, tho iivc

sailors who had lost their lives in the
navaldlsasterln the sea of Japan. The
incinbcrs of the orchestra became alarmed
and ilcfi from the platform, when M.
Novikoff, former Mayor of Baku, rose and
said:
"Let as all by rising show respcct for
the victims. Down with the war. \Ve
have had enough of blood."
Some eighty policemen entered from
either side of the hall and clbowod their
way through the crowd towards M. Novi-
koff, whereupon cries were raised of “Let
us attack the police." -
Chairs were seized and hurled at the
police, ,thc crowd being led bva colonel
with a drawn sword. The policemen tired
preclpltately.
Order being rcstorcd,, 9. number of
speeches were dellvcrcd on the national
crisis. Suddenly the police, reinforced to
between 200and' 300, again invaded the
hall and rushed on the audience with
drawn swords. The people defended
themselves with chairs and sticks, but
after ten minutes were driven from the
hall in the garden, where there was a bat-
talion of Tlrailleurcs, who rniacri their ri-
fles to their shoulders preliminary to the
order to fire bclng given, causing a panic.
The public lied toward the exits, and
iinding them closed, smashed thc doors
and windows of the hall, and so gained
tho street. Mauv persons were injured,
some so seriously that they had to be
taken to a hospital.
M. Novikoti’ was arrested and thc
gardens were occupied by- police and
Cossackis. A strong military force was
placed on the road leading from Pav-
-iovsk to Tsarskoe-Solo and to St. Peters-
burg and at thc railway stations. '
Prwlovsk is 10 miles from St. Peters-
burg, and is a summer resort for inhabit-
ants of the capital. Concerts arc given in
the gardens there daily, and are patron-
izerl by fashionable and bourgeois audi-
ences largely composed of people from
St. Petersburg.
