ST PETERS TEA.~The tea held at pices of the St Peters improvement Society, was a most pleasant and suc~ cessful one, and a fitting opening of the tea party season. The day was an ideal one and the attendance was large. Special trains from Miscouchc and Charlottetown brought fairly large crowds although naturally the bulk oi' the attendance was from neighbouring sections. The tables were well served and abundantly supplied. wliiie enter- tainments of various kinds was i'ur~ nislicil in appropriate booths. The St Peters Improvciiiciit Society, to whom the success of this thc ilrst ten of thc season is due, are to bc congratulated on thc fali' measure of success that attended their efforts and particularly on thc motive that inspired tiic imdcr- taking, namely, local improvements. It is understood that a number oi' pr0~ jects are in contemplation with ri vlcw to improving conditions in the village and surrounding country and it is sincerely hoped that the Society will receive all possible encouragement. Local improvement is perhaps the most important feature in the present forward movement and there is no part of the province that can be made more beautiful or more attractive than St Peters, for which nature has done so much. It is hoped that other sec- tions of the province will follow the excellent example set by St Peters in organising for local improvement. 4 | UNLY SIXTEEN, GIRL VERY SIIIK 'l'ells. How She Was Made Well by LydiaE.Pinl¢ham’s _ Vegetable Compound. ~°' °“-r r.-.“..:.'.:“:..»r.:°~ __ ,________,_____ __,,_.__,,_,_____ n ese nes i=:lv=_,__._._,____.;i._,,.__§.______ wexprsgl myglmw tude to you. em \ ‘ only16yeai-soldsnd ’ ` i` work in A tobacco ;».;;_» _ factory. AN ISLANDER.-From Charlotte- to Serbia is a far cry, and the world is but small after all, as the following curious coincidence shows. Mrs. J. A. Fraser of this city, in correspond- ing with a friend of hers. Miss_Maud Ford, who is on the nursing stall? of a hospital in Serbia wrote that there was one Islander in the Serbian army, Mr. Roy Leitch, of Charlottetown. The other day a letter came to Mrs. Fra- ser from Miss Ford's sister, Miss Irene of Montrose, Scotland, who had spent some months in Charlottetown two years ago, the guest of Mrs. Fraser. Miss Irene wrote that she had a letter from her sister who stated that the very day after Mrs. Fraser’s letter reached her, that a train loaded with Serbian troops on their way to the in- terior, stopped at the hospital camp. One of the soldiers entered the camp to borrow some sugar from Miss Ford, and he was introduced to her as Mr. Roy Leitch. of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
