Yesterday afternoon Gordon Worth,
Charlottetown, narrowly averted a
serious accident while attending the
funeral of the late Reagh Bell. Near
the Cemetery his horse took fright
and upset the sleigh, throwing the
occupants `out.~Mr. Worth sustained A
rather painful injury ,to his wrist. No
other damage resulted.

the Arena last night at the Leap
Year. Skate. The lodics only were in

BILL FOR SUPERVISION OF
MAIL ORDER SWINDLERS.
WASHINGTON, Feb. 22-A bill
that would put mail order invest-
ment companies under the supervi-
sion of the commissioner of corpora-
tions of the department of commerce
and labor was introduced by Repre-
sentative Steenerson .of Minnesota. It
would require slfhmission of plans,ns-
sets and liabilities to the government
before beginning operations. “It' has
been reported that swindllny promot-
ers who were put out of business last
year obtained $77,000,000 through
advertisements circulated in the
mails,” laid Mr. Steenerson.
