June 25, when it became known that one of its oldest and most respected citizens. Mrs. Roderick MacPhee. had passed away. at the advanced age of M. - The deceased was a daughter of the late John Kelly. and Margaret MacLe1lan, and was born at Byrne's Road. When a child she moved with her parents toiBcar River. At an early age, she mar- ried the late Roderick MacPhee, who predeceased her 40 years ago. She spent her entire life at Sel- she lived in the old home, with her son, John L. MacPhee, and indeed hers was a life of com- fort, being tenderly cared for by her son and daughter-in-law and grand old age. Mrs. MacPhee was active and blessed with all her ia- culties until the last. Endowed with ardent Catholic faith, she spent the most part oi her last years in prayer and pre- paration for her Heavenly Home and like all good Christians ric- serves the final announcement from God. "Well Done thou good and faithful Servant." In her home she was a devoted mother and as a neighbour. Her memory will be a lasting one. She was always ready to help the sick and comfort the disconsolate. She leaves to mourn three daughters and five sons: Mrs. Paul MacKin- non and Mrs. Andrew MacLaren. Goose River; Mrs. Chester Mac- Donald. Clear Springs; Joseph and Ronald MacPhce. New York; John L. and Hugh MacPhec, Selkirk; viell MacPhee, Monticello. Two sons: Donald J. and Walter pre- dece'ased her. She also is mourned by one sister. Mrs. John MacDon- ald. Bear River. and two brothers. Charles Kelly. Bear River and James Kelly, Boston. These together with 41 grand- children and 40 grant-grandchil- dren will always hold A loving re- membrance of her kindness and sincerity. Her funeral took place' on Mona day, June 28, at St. Margaret's Church. Requiem High Mass was sung by her pastor, Rev. George MacDonald, who also performed the service at the grave. Her large funeral procession, the numerous Mass Cards and messages of sympathy received testify that she was loved and respected by all who had known her. Her funeral was under the direction of Dingwell Bros.. Souris. and her Pallbearers were five grandsons: Joseph. Rod- die and Gerald MacPhee. Gus and Hubert MacLaren. and a nephew. Peter Kelly.
