MARY SOPHIA ROSS —Many old friends attended the funeral services on Sillllfflll afternoon for Dr. Mary Ross. w io passed away on Thurs- day at the home of her sister Mrs. D. R. Morrison. Rev. D. F‘. Hod- riinott conducted the service assist- ed by Rev. D. M. Fraser. Burial took place in the family plot in the Wilmot Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. Rob-art Baker, Cle- ments Carruthers, Gordon Burns, Ralph Caiibeck. William Iefurgey, Ralph MacCaull. Dr. Ross was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs Murdock Ross of Ross‘ Cor- ner and spent her early childhood and girlhood there. She was a graduate of Prince of Wales Col- leg: and taught school on the Is- land, afterwards going to I-Iono- lulu. where she was engaged in the [caching profession for a number at years. After leaving there she decided to study medicine, and took her M. D. at Rush College, Chic- aro. For thirty years Dr. Ross mncticcd her profession in Hanni- ml. Missouri. Ill health forced her to give up and early last spring Dr. Ross came homc to her native Province and lived with her sister. Mrs, Morrison at Bed-sous until =l1-:= passed away.
