FEEDER REPORT Feeders became important early this season with the early arrival of winter. Grosbeaks and other winter regulars arrived at the Holman feeder on North River Road on November 20, the day after the first winter snowstorm. Edwin Johnston of New Haven had a variety of mid-December 'bird visitors including an American Robin, Tree Sparrow, Hairy and Downy Noodpeckers, lots of Dark-eyed Juncos, Black- capped Chickadees, Starlings, House Sparrows, Bluejays, Even— ing Grosbeaks, Brown-headed Cowbirds, and Common CrOws. Shirley Donnelly had 2 male Jock Sutherland observed Black- capped Chickadees, House Spar— rows, Bluejays, and 2 Downy Woodpeckers at his home on Fitzroy Street in Charlotte- town. He also reported 2 Bohemian Haxwings at Mrs. Ian MacLeod's feeder on Landsdowne Avenue in mid-December. David L. Cairns sighted a variety of visitors at the family feeder in Orchard Hill Park on Decem— ber 29: 4 Red-winged Black- birds, 5 Bluejays, l White- throated Sparrow, 2 Boreal Chickadees, l Bohemian Naxwing, 2 Evening Grosbeaks and lots of Black-capped Chickadees and House Sparrows. Mrs Louise Lowther reported 2 Red-winged Blackbirds at her feeder in Orchard Hill Park on December 23. Compiled by Winifred Cairns 6O Newland Cres. Charlottetown, P.E.I. I hope Winifred will receive the same enjoyment and cooperation as editor as I did. Clare Martin Red-winged Blackbirds on Haverlery Court in Charlottetown on December 20. Other regulars at her feeder include Evening Grosbeaks, Rock Doves, and House Sparrows Mrs. Lowell Clark of Indian River reported feeder visitors which include a dozen Evening Grosbeaks, 2 to 3 dozen Blue- jays, lots of Black—capped Chickadees and 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches.
