Fowls from western fattening
houses are now selling on the eastern
markets at about 2 cents a pound a-
bove tho price of the ordinary east-
ern farm fowl, according to the state-
ment of tho poultry department of
Cornell University. This is said to
be true because, in spite of storage
and long shipment, they are special-
ly fattened and come onthe ninrket
a plump and attractive condition.
There is no reason according to the
Cornell poultry experts, why the
eastern farmer could not reap the bc-
nents of the extra 2 cents a pound
if he would take the pains to fatteii
broilers and towls before sellng theni.
