Few stage representations of battles are seldom successlul as educators as to the aczual work done by troops in the Field. This will not be the case with the Engineers and ther representation of the "Last: Stand will be pfecise 'in all the actual details ofa modern battle. The Last Stand, as will be presented in this case, is based on a pathetic story that rs told of a body of British troops in the late war against the Metebeles. £The red coats were completely wiped out and later on some of tho natives who were taken prisoners near the end of the war, told how _the _Bri1ish, when off their hats and sang a strange song- God Save the Queen-it is presumed. Afterwards when the bodies of these men were found it was also discovered that the bolts of the rifles lay in vari- ousdirections where they had been thrown by the soldiers in order that the rifles, when they fell into the hands of the enemv, would be useless. A re- presentation of this ir citlent will in- deed be interesting. Friday the 17th is the date of the Engineers entertainment.
