AFFAIR.-A most successful concert~and pie social was held in East Baltic School Rooms, March 3rd. A creditable programme was prepared by the teacher Miss Jo- sephine Grady. A iine night and good roads being in their favor, the school room was well filled. The program was opened by a speech by the chair- man, Mr. John Ellsworth, followed by a piano selection by Miss Winnie Bruce, which deserves special mention. A solo entitled “We'll Never Let the old Flag Fall was then excellently ren- dered by Randolph Bruce, which was loudly applauded. A recitation was then given by`Beatrice J. Bruce, fol- lowed by a solo. “Khaki" by Miss Jo seplilne Grady. \Miss Helena'§}rady gave a recitation entitled "St. Peter at the Gate." One of the most interes- ting features of the evening was‘step- dance by Mr. Domnic Mossey (li-ir. Hugh J. MacDonald accompanist.) The pies were then auctioned by the chairman and the snug sum of twenty- ty-tihreedollars was the net proceeds. The seats were taken up and dancing was indulged in until an early hour.
