Another committee con- sisting of the President, Mr. I/lchean and Mr. Paton was appointed to in- terview the local government and the authorities at` Ottawa. Several members 'inquired how the recruiting speakers stood regarding the Patriotic Fund. During the last campaign they offered certain induce- ments regarding allowances from the Patriotic Fund and there were now numerous complaints regarding the granting of relief from that Fund. A committee consisting of the Presl- dent,_Rev. Mr. Fulton, Mr. Paton and Mr. Hughes was appointed to inter- view the Chairman of the local Pa- triotic Fund and to request him to call a meeting ofthe General Coni- mlttee of the Fund to discuss the ques- tion. _ A resolutlon was passed requesting the Government to appoint a separate Director of' National Service, and a Re- cruiting Oflicer for Prince Edward Iii- land, and a committee consisting of liev. Dr Fullerton, Mr. Reuben Mec- donuld and Mr. J. R. Burnett was appointed to draft a memorial on the subject.
