Death of Constable Farrell, Act rovernments Charges Against Scott Prosecutors. Moncton, April 8. Constable Farrell, who was shot by Bas- tian at Painsac on Friday, died at his home in Shediac on Saturday morning. An in- quest was held, and a verdict returned that death resulted froma pistol shot fired by Bastian. There is intense feeling in all parts of the county against the Scott Act prosecutors in Shediac, and the prosecuting lawyer, who had gone into Bastian’s house shortly after the shooting, was denounced by widow Bastian asa murderer and or- dered from the house. There is talk of re-opening enquiry. Many serious charges are alleged against the Scott Act cutors. prose- Bismarck’s Resignation. Berwin, April 8. Whiting, merchant, of Lon- don, was arrested this morning, charged with rape on Minnie Gillespie. He was lodged in jail. An attempt was made by 200 citizens to lynch him, but it was pre- vented by the police. Another Fiood. Pestn, April 7. A waterspout passed over this city yester- day, causing sewers to burst and flooding fully 1,000 basements. The damage is enormous. Dykes between Csongrad and Csany burst, flooding 2,500 acres. The Government Majority. Orrawa, April 7. The division was taken on the Jones amendment at half-past four this morning. The vote stood : .yeas, 67 ; nays, 124. The division was a straight party one.
