The idea of building a hall in the district at an early date was discussed, and’ each member was requested to learn every thing pos- sible on the subject. The idea is al- so to be suggested to the local Farm Forum~group, and a public meeting to be called later. The Red Cross convenor. Mrs. David Campbell. reported that work would be received after the re- novating at the Red Cross rooms had been completed. By unanimous vote, the munbers agreed to collect for a gilt to a family whose home had been de- stroyed by fire. Blocks for the Copenhagen quilt were shown to the members, who are to bring five names and 50 cents each to the next meeting. Mrs. John Moreshead and Mrs. George Msthieson were appointed to see about a play tor the Drama Festival. Mrs. John Matthews and Mrs Herbert Vatchcr acted as the scrutineers during the balloting for the delegate to Copenhagen. It was decided that the Institute purchase some supplementary read- ing books and a small blackboard for examinations tor the school. It was also decided that this institute give a scholarship of twenty-iive dollars to the pupil in the O'!.eary school who makes the highest mark in the 1950 Matriculation examin- ations for the furtherance of his or her studies. Sixteen dollars were handed in for the payment of capsules. The Red Cross committee is to send for four thousand more capsules. The school committee was appointed to see about obtaining drinking cups until the fountain is iixed. A thank-you card was read irom Mrs. Cyril Easter.
