Ob, bring some token to my view That ye my loved one safe will keep! Cnnst thou not tell me, Polar Star! Where in the frozen waste he kneels? And on the icy plains afar Ilia love to God and me reveals.’ Wilt thou not send one brighter ray To my lone heart and aching eye? \Vilt thou not turn my night to day, And wake my spirit ere I die! Tell me, oh dreary North! for now My soul is like thine Arctic zone; Beneath the darkened skies I bow Or ride the stormy sen alone! Tell me of my beloved! for I Know not a ray my lord without! A MONAR.CH’S DEATH. -———o Sad at heart with life, and weary- I"utnre hopeless. cold and dreary, Ever void of fricndsliip's token, In the world was he alone: Bitter lot for suffering mortal Lingering on death’: silent portal; Worse that he, with spirit broken, Sat upona kingly throne. Youthful days a sunshine wearing. Benuteous bride his kingdom sharing, Every fairer hope besperiliing Life for him were robes of bliss: \Vhilc the bridal year was wailing, She, with meeknees nncomplaining, Brighter worlds of comfort seeking. Left a broken heart in this. Lonely now—by all forsaken, Fresh his early memories wakcn, Picturing her sweet face and figure Through the mists of forty years; Tenderly upon him smiling, Fanev paints her, grief beguiling, Till the truth, in all its rigour, Leaves him nought but fruitless tears. Busy thoughts his bosom thronging, Sudden rose a fearful longing As ifthore all hope was centered, Once more on her face to gaze; Quickly to the church he wended, Down the rugged steps descended, Silently the vault he entered, Tried the collin-lid to raise. Olfit flew. Ilow still within it Lay that form; and for a minute Life seemed in the collin lying, So unchanged the well-known face; Beautiful as sleep. yet calmer, Cunningly the skilled embalmer, As for ever they were flying, Stay’d each tint that life can trace. DO NOT NEGLEC1‘ IT. Consumption can be and has been cured, in thousands of cases, by this only certain remedy, .lUDSON'S CHEMICAL EXTRACT OF CHERRY JJVD LUNG WORT, and no remedy has ever before been discovered that will certainly Cure Consumption. The most strongly marked and developed cases of Pulmonary Con- suiiiplion, where the lungs have become diseased and ulceralcd and the case so utterly hopeless, as to have been wonounced by Physicians and friends, to be past all possibility ofrccovcry, and at times thought _ to be dying, have been cured by this uoundcrful remedy, and are now as well and hearty as ever. It is scompouiid of rv.cdicntioiis which are peculiarly adapted to and esu.-nlislly necessary for the cure of COUGHS ./IND CONSUMPTION. Its operation is mild, yet ellicucious; it loosens the phlegm which creates so much dilliculty, relieves the cough and assists nature to expel from the system all diseased matter by expectoration, producing sdclighlful change in the breathing and chest, sndthis, after the prescriptions ofthe very best medical men and the iiivenlions ofkind and sorroiving friends and Nurses, have failed to give the smallest relief to the Conrumplive suflerer. THOUSANDS OF CONSUMPTIVE persons have been deceived repeatedly in buying medicines which were said to be irifallible cures, but which have proved only pall- iativcs, but this medicine is not only a palliative buta cure for ulcerated lungs. It contains no deleterious Drugs and one trial will prove its astonishing ellicscy better than any assertions or certiliciitcs_in curing consumption and all diseases of the Lungs, such as Spitting oflilood, Coughs, pain in tlie title and elicit, night- su.-cnls. &c. kc. ‘About I000 certificates of almost miraculous cures, performed by this medicine, from some of the first Doctors, Clcrgynieri and Mer- chants, have been sent us for this medicine, but the publication of them looks too much like Quacltery, [we will show them to any per- son, "' “at our oliice.] This medicine will speak for itself and enough _in its own favour wherever it is tried.
