The Golden Sunbeam Club held
their regular meeting at the home
oi’ Elma. and laura Bruce on Jan.
8th, with a large attendance oi'
members and visitors. An interest-
ing feature of this meeting was an
old fashioned spelling match led by
Mildred Rose and Laura Bruce as
captains, Laura's team winning by
a small majority.
A very enjoyable evening was
spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Dec. 18th, when the Golden Eun-
beam Club entertained the young
men oi’ the district, the gathering
being in honour of Mrs. Leslie Lad-
ner, ex-secretary oi’ our club, and
one of the recent brides. After some
time was spent playing games and
other social intercourse, Martha
Garrett, President of the club call-
ed thc gathering to order and in
a few well chosen remarks express-
ed the esteem in which the past

linen and glassware. Alice thanked
the club for their gifts in her
charming genial manner. The girls-
then retired to the pantry and came

man during tile festive Christmas
season. A hearty sing song was en-
joyed by all after which remarks
were made by Alva Ching. in ap-
preciation Uf the pleasant evening
spent. He then called upon Rupert
Garrett who on behalf of the young
men present thanked the girls for
their hospitality. A very hearty vote
of thanks was tendered Mr. and
Mrs. Robertson and family for the
use of their home for this gather-
ing, after which all dispersed to
their homes feeling they had spent
a very enjoyable evening and hop-
ing many more would be held dur-
ing the winter season.
