N HL HOCKEY : by Chris McCarron _I’mdisappointed with Rick Tocchet’s miserable 18 points as of January 7°92. The struggling Gary Leeman had 19 points atthe same time. The dork, Farwell fired Paul Holmgren. It’s not Holmgren’s fault that the Flyers have sucked. Steve Larmer, with over 745 consecutive games in the NHL, is arare gem. He is tough, durable and talented. Thank God that Clark and Neely have returned, now hockey fans can again enjoy real hockey. By the way Clark dropped Neely in a quick fight last season. | was surprised to see how quickly Neely went down. If the Detroit Red Wings win the Cup this year at least the fearless Brad Marsh will finally get his ring. ‘Mark Recchiis unbelievable. Imagine being second ‘in NHL scoring behind teammate Mario Lemieux. Problem! Philadelphia is hosting the annual NHL all star game and Ron Hextall isn’t playing. Granted Hextall doesn’t deserve to be playing due to injury teduced stats but he is now playing well and he isa Flyer forever. Yet Denis Savard and Chris Nilan were both added to past all star games and by God they didn’t have the stats to back them up. Let’s hope the Leafs make the playoffs this year. They havea talented team and I would froth at the mouth to see Clark, Gilmour, Fuhr, Zezel, Macoun and the rest skate all over the St. Louis Blues. Every player on Toronto is Canadian which is not the case for any otherteam. Ifyou like hockey fight tapes then the only place in Ch’ town to rent these tapes is at Video Pros. Thanks Glenn for the great tape. Wendel Clark the farm boy from Saskatchewan fired his fifth career hat trick on the 11th in a 4-3 win over New Jersey. This is impressive. Most players never come close to having five hat tricks in their career. I don’t think my favorite, Bobby Clarke ever even scored a hat trick during his long career. Never mind Roenick, Yzerman, or Bellows I would take Clark any day.
