mourn, besides her husband, a large
family of young children. The funer-
al, which took place on February the
25th, was very largely attended, and
the services were conducted by Rev.
D. MacLean of Charlottetown.
The sympathy of their many friends
goes out to the members of the be-
reaved family~in their severe trial; to
the husband from whom has been
taken one who for upwards of eight-
een years has been his faithful, sym-
pathetic and inspiring partner, and
who entered so fully, so lovingly and
so unsellishly into the joys and sor- -
e en w o ave been so early
deprived of a mother’s ministering
love,<and the wholesome influence of
her gentle Christian spirit. -
By her many friends who so often
enloyed a place at her hospitable
board, who experienced her sincere
but unostentatious ktndliness, ber
memory will long be treasured. She
will be remembered as one who
amidst the stress of the petty trials
broken calmness of spirit, a rare
sweetness of disposition, and a char-
itableness of judgment that made for
in those deeds which are the expres
sion of a generous and self-sacrificing
spirit. And the writer doubts not
that, although now she rests from her
labors, yet these labors so faithfull
formed, will continue to bear fruit
not only, in ` her o,wn family, but
wherever the memory of her life shall
remain. When the first shock of grief
at their great loss shall have in part
spent itself, those who have been be-
reaved will sse more-clearly that to
have been associated _ with the de-

mon duties, conferred an honor, and,
to have been the special objects of
her care and thought imposes an.
obligation which should prove an in-i
centive to lives wortby of her mem-
