E. Prowse for $1200. Mr. Gillia, however, tailed to find a purchaser for the building, buyers probab’y being somewhat intimidated by the late trouble over the moving of the Ch’town Hospital. The result is that Mr. Gillis is having the building torn down. The destruction of this building removes one of the old land- marks. It was originally built and used by the Baptiste as p'ace of worship, remain- ing as such until the erection of the Bap- tist Brick Church. Thereafter the build- ing served partly as a warchouse and partly as a magistrate’s court, presided over | by the late Alex. Hayden, Esq. Sixty -three cases of cholera and forty-nine deaths were reported here yesterday. Lispon, Sept. 10. The Portuguese Government bas cfiicially declared the porte of Swansea and Plymouth England infected with cholera, and ordered that all vessels arriving from these places be subject toa strict medical examination and then be quarantined for a certain period.
