A meeting is to be held at Kilrush to protest against eviction process. The call for the meeting concludes as follows: “People of Kilrush; at a most imports:nt invited to become soldiers of Ireland, under the banner of the Natiohal League. O’Brien, presiding at a National League meeting to-day, denounced the Government in violent terms for conspiring with Judge O’Brien to usurp the functions of a jury and manufacture a verdict by illegal means. The Government never hoped to bring them to trial; but did hope that before a verdict could be obtained from the jury they would succeed in sup- pressing the anti-rent movement by pro- clamatory and aribitrary conduct. He warned them they would have to adopt a still more drastic measure than the peace- ful plan campaign, to stay’the arms of evicting landlords.
