The class- es have not yet been decided upon though it is thought that owing to the present financial depression the purse would be reduced. ‘The Club fccl assured that they will have the backing of nil lovers of sport but unless they have the co- operation of the citizens of Sum- merside they cannot hope for a successful meet. It is the purpose of the Club to make Dominion Day, which has always been conceded to Summersldc by all other Driving Clubs, a huge success. Horse racing . has taken on a new impetus of late and thcrc is no reason if the public get behind the Club flint Summer- side should not have a big program for that clay. No doubt some school sports can be arranged between Charlottetown Schools and the lo- cal Iligh School to make the event interesting for the younger visitors. It is to be regretted that the Sum- merside exhibition has fallen by the way, and although it is due in some measure to fairs in other parts of Prince County, the chief reason for its disappearance is the lack of interest on the part of the citizens of the town. With such a good farming district for miles around there is no reason why Summerside should not have an exhibition and 0n a par with those held in former years. Perhaps the Women's Institutes who are doing such good work along those lines would lend their support to such o. worthy object.
