SKETCH OF PUGWASH-An interesting v historical sketch of Pugwash, N.S., has been contrib- uted by Mr. Charles H. Black, of Charlottetown, to the brochure featuring the Gathering of the Clans and Fisherman's Regatta at Pugwash this year. The event took place on July 1st. The historical details. as given by M.r. Black, are of permanent value and include reference to some of his forebears, one of whom. Rufus F. Black, is believed to have been the first white child born in Pugwash. An early survey and plan of the town was made by another relative. Lleut. Col. James Black, who re- ceived a grant of land there from the Nova Scotia Government in the early 1800's.
