Aim, Sept. 14 - (AP)-warden B. R. Reeves ssld tonight large number of heavily- armed prisoners escaped in in mass break at Draper Prison. First reports gave the number of escapees ss 150, but Reeves said he didn't think it was that num- ber. He said he had not completed a check oi the prison population. All guards on duty in the prison were either locked in an office or taken hostage. Reeves said also that the escap- ing convicts took with them all the guns in the prison gun room. He said they included at least two sub-machine-guns, three or four piswks and some shotguns. Draper Prison is located about 22 miles north of Montgomery. Mostly young first-offenders are confined there. Miracle Recovery From Wasp Sting VANCOUVER. Sept. 14 - (CP)-A baby boy. stung 417 times Aug. 26 when he fell inio a wasp's nest. had made what doctors describe as a "miracle recovery". Mark Bennett, 17 months old, toddled into a waap's nest in his backyard and remained there paralyzed for 10 min- uies. It left his body swollen in about twice normal sire, his eyes bulging and his hear- ing gone. He lost 50 per cent. of his blood.
