November 8. without a doubt had it not been for the anticipated visit of the now fondly remembered Royal Couple. folks from far and wide would have flocked to see the drama group, sponsored by the Department of Adult Education. and unden the direction of Mr. Meiklejohn of Ottawa. in their sometimes weird operations. There was the afternoon for instance. when women of assorted sizes and ages were scurrying across the stage. mouthing strange lines and darting through various exits and entrances. There was the afternoon when the hall sound- ed llke a carpenter's shop and miniature stages. were built amid much laughter. There were quiet. and enjoyable hours of lecture and discussion concemlng the various phases of play production, and tine films to illustrate stage craft. It was all fun and release from tension for busy women. and an inspiration and help for their dramatic work in the community. The Warm companionship. the amiable and capable leadership of Mr. Meiklejohn, the pleasant at- mosphere and good meals and hos- pitality of the hostess. Meikle- john. Ottawa. concluded in Char- lottetown on Tuesday evening. November 13th. with approximately twenty-five persons participating. For the final class. Mr. Meikle- john took a one-act play, now in production by the Little Theatre Guild. and worked with the cut for the full evening.
