NEW YORK, Feb. 21-Patrolman

closer to investigate and saw sparks

the cover revealed a long, smoking

and packed it downtlght over the
fuse, extinguishing the spark. Thou
he carried the pot gingerly to his
precinct headquarters where the ex-
perts diagnosed it as one of the most
dangerous dynamite bombs that has
been found in many months. Detect-
ives questioned all the dwellers in the
tall tenement, but none of them
could give any clew to the attempt-
ed outrace.

interest as they are out of the ordin-
ary both in the subjects and the
manner of treatment. There will he
two more sermons on succeeding Sun-
day evenings, “The Rich Fool" and
“The Man Who Played The Fool." In
speaking last night of “The Foolish
Young Man" the remarks were based
on Mark 10.21, concerning the young
man who came to Jesus to know
what he should do to inherit eternal
life. Jesus loved him when be saw
him for his many good qualities, but
he revealed the structural weakness of
his life when he told him to sell all
that he had and give to the poor and
then come and follow hlm.
This Young man made three great
mistakes. First, his mistake About
Christ. Some mistakes do not seri-
ously interfere with life’s prospects,
but this was serious. ‘When Jesus
brought him to the test he failed be-
cause he had s wrong idea of Christ.
His Jewish training did not excuse
him any more than the home train-
ing does young men to-day who rc-
in fuse to accept salvation by faith
in Jesus along. Dante-calls him
“Tho Great efusal.” He settled
the problem of the historical Christ
as a man, but hs did not recognize
the divinity of Jesus and so he went
away sad.
Second, the mistake about himself
was next developed. He had a great
deal of business ability, and this he
wanted even to reach into the future.

the future was dwelt upon. “This
young man had money .and he
thought it was the exchange of
heaven as well as of earth. There was
gold in heaven. It was so common
that the streets of the city were
paved with gold. The only place

first time we shall have it under our
feet."
