This isl much too dale and the failure to: successfully control these enemies to. sucoesaful-‘fruit culture is in many: oases dueto procrastination. l Preparations to spray should be} made.’ during the winter months be- fore the rush of spring work and before the insects and diseases be- come active. The lots-st mlormotlorfon the best methods of control of the pests it is desired to destroy should be ob- tained during the winter. The spray‘ materials should be purchased anal the spray pump put. in order or a} new onifpurchased. One should be prepared to make as many applica- tions as will ensure clean and unin- jured fruit and foliage. At tile E);- perimental Farm, Ottawa. it has been found that in some seasons six ap-r plicntions or more of spray material i-i required to entirely control the apple scab but it is well worth the ctxra labor and small cost to obtain clean fruit.
