You have probably found this a very sketchy outline of Carnival. This is so be— cause a lot of the partic— ulars have not been final— ized and a lot of badly needed bodies to put these ideas into effect just are not there. If you have any further ideas or can help out, contact your class organization and keep an eye out for meetings. If everyone takes responsibil— ity for their "baby", this can really be the best Carnival we've ever had. The dates for Carnival are Jan. 22 - 26. The att— itude of-the committee at this stage is "Why not?" so WHY NOT??? Why not? Why not get your thinking caps on and support your class on its day? Let's make this Carnival "The week everyone will Remember." This week's "Poke in the Ribs" goes to our illust- rious editor — Richard Willis who shocked the university community by wearing a "sexy" .Eig‘last Friday. The Junior class has dr— awn Wednesday and Sunday as the segment of carnival for which they will be respon— sible. They see Wednesday as being crucial to setting the pace for Carnival. They are planning a big torch— light“parade which will start downtown and will end up at the campus for the official opening. After the parade, a bash will take place in the gym With music by Sun Machine from Halifax. This will be followed by a square-dance in front of Main with a fiddler and caller on the balcony. ‘ The Seniors will carry the torch on Thursday with the day's activities getting underway around 11 A.M. They plan some really crazy activities such as outhouse races, sleuCe racing, scav- enger hunts, broomball games, a greasEd pig on the ice, and many other ridiculous rantics which are a part of the garnival spirit.
