On Friday afternoon senior business students are challenging juniors in soft ball. Meet around the tenn- is courts at 3 pm for some fresh air and a lot of laughs. They may bring dollars for scholars that the University Women’s Group hopes to raise for the UPEI Scholarship Fund, at a Fair planned for Saturday September 27 in the Gym. The potpourri will include books, records, crafts, dorm decorators, foodstuffs, plus anything you” may add to the collection. The ladies are hoping for a large con— tribution of jewellery for the White Elephant A country kitchen with shelves laden with honey, jams, jellies andother condiments is certain‘ to be a crowd pleaser. For youngsters, a fish pond, balloons, a doll lottery and a toy booth. For amusement the Fair-goers can try their hand at computer games. Paintings by Island artists, Adrien Arsenault, Daphne Irving and Henry Purdy, a photograph by Michael Liu, as well as‘a dinner for two .are among items which will come under the auctioneer's hammer, in the hands of Dean Ivan Dowling of the Science Faculty. The Fair will open at 10am. and close with . one hour-long auction’between 1 and 2 o’clock! in the afternoon. The Women’s Group hopes for Island-wide participation at the Fair. Island residents‘as well as the University community are asked to bring donations to the University’s Utility Plant, Monday through Friday between-8 am. and 12 noon, and from 1 pm. to 4:30 pm.
