SPORTS FRONT By PIUS CALLAGHAN Hockey School Nears BACK in the late forties. the annual hockey school for rc- fcrees and coaches was instituted here and Frank ‘King’ Clancy, now assistant general manager of Toronto Maple Leafs, was tile first instructor. Each year since. without interruptions. the school has con- ttnued and many outstanding personalities have come to Char- lottetown to pass along their hockey wisdom to those, desiring to learn more about the game. The president of the National Hoc- key League. Clarence Campbell, his referee-in-chief. (‘arl Voss. Frank Udvari. Roy ‘Red’ Storey. George Tayes. Buddy O'Con- nor. Jimmy Skinner. Howie Meeker. Pete Kelly and several others have graced the school with their attendanc. e annual sessions proved decidedly popular and each December the affair is looked forward to bv npua s ()0 irlterested parties. Several come from the mainland to take the bentfit of the fine instructions given at these December aittings.
