Nearly sixteen hours late the steamer
Halifax, Capt. Ellis, reached her berth at
Union Wharf, Boston at 8.30
Friday -morning after a tem-
pestuous passage from Halifax, N. S.
The decks were washed repeatedly, but
thc steamer carrie through wlt_h_out the
slightest damage. 'I`hc fifteen passengers
who came up on the steamer were oblig-
ed to remain below most of the time and
all of them were contented to do so.

While George Lewis, of Lewis' Point, wus
'enjoying the good sleighinir and balmy at-
mosphere, rt team drove on him from be-
hind with such force as to badly damage
the back of his sleigh and break one of his
shafts. it is miraculous that Mr. Lewis
and the other occupunt of .thc team es-
caped without injury, and that the sleigh
was not demolished.
